The cover of Old Flames and New Fortunes, a book by Sarah Hogle

Sarah Hogle’s New Book is Coming Out in April

Sarah Hogle, the author of You Deserve Each Other, Twice Shy, and Just Like Magic is releasing a new book on April 23rd, 2024. The title will be Old Flames and New Fortunes and the book will feature a unique blend of romance and magic.

It’s a second-chance romance, set in a small town, featuring a magical florist and her unexpected reunion with her high school sweetheart.

We’ll follow Romina Tempest, known for helping others find love through her flower language. She faces an unexpected twist when her potential business financier reveals his impending wedding. Eager to negotiate, Romina pretends to date her quirky colleague, Trevor. But then she discovers that Trevor’s soon-to-be stepbrother is her high school sweetheart, Alex.

What begins as a fake dating scheme to make Alex regret past mistakes soon turns complicated as Romina grapples with lingering feelings. Will she choose to prove a point or let go of the past for a second chance at love?

The premise sounds a little complicated, but I’m eager to read it. After all, her wildly successful debut, You Deserve Each Other is one of the best second-chance romances I’ve ever read.

As a bonus, her previous release was filled with Christmas magic and tons of humor. So I’m hoping to see more of that in Old Flames and New Fortunes.

Early Reviews

Library Journal has already reviewed it (see here) and their verdict is stellar:

The world Hogle has created is cozy and warm, and fans of her previous work or of witchy romances will be crossing their fingers that this is the start of a series.
